“If you don’t get back inside, you’ll catch a cold.”
Despite having your eyes tightly closed, you choose not to crack one open in favor of peering at the intruder who dares to disturb your peace. Silence doesn’t come easily for you, and you’d like if it could be prolonged without distractions coming your way.
Unfortunately, you won’t get your wish. Not today, anyway.
“[Name].”
Your lips quirk in annoyance, though your chest is fluttering with amusement. “Tch, Teppei, don’t you know it’s bad manners to disturb someone who’s resting?” you say, still not opening your eyes. But you can feel the shifts of the figure who’s looming over you, a smile probably gracing his face.
“You, resting? In the middle of snow?” he chuckles. Then, without warning, he leans downwards to pull you up to your feet, successfully making you snap your eyes open to glare at him. “Do you have a death wish or something?”
“You’re no fun,” you pout, stuffing your hands into the pockets of his winter coat, them being big enough to fit both your and his hands simultaneously. “Can’t a girl have her winter dreams while it’s snowing? What are you, a dream destroyer or something?”
“I’m not that cruel, [Name],” Teppei says, pulling out a hand from his pocket to pat at your snow-caked head. “But it’s really won’t do if someone sees a pregnant woman lying under a tree while it's snowing. Why don’t you come inside and I’ll make you hot chocolate?”
“With brownies?” your eyes shine enthusiastically as soon as the words ‘hot chocolate’ leave his mouth. “With the gooey chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream on top?”
Teppei tips his head back in a loud chortle, but he nods his head nonetheless. “Everything you want, with vanilla ice cream on top. I’ll make it three scoops. Happy?”
Excitement coursing through your being with the thought of having your favorite sweets in hand soon, you almost skip in your steps while trailing after him, quickly grasping his hand in yours. “I love you, Teppei. Thank you so much.”
He shakes his head, amused at your child-like behavior despite the growing lump on your abdomen that is currently carrying his offspring.
Proof of that fact that there’s currently a shiny gold band on his ring finger, the one that is a match with yours.
“Anything for you, love.”
